Blind Kid Throws D-backs First Pitch in Game 4 NLDS vs. Milwaukee Brewers

:... :.: ::: ..::.. i:.:.: That’s Braille for: “Great arm, kid. Way to throw that ball straight and blazing square into the catcher's mitt. Not a lot of people can do that. Even Carl Lewis, a guy who won 9 gold medals, couldn't throw a first pitch. But you can, and you’re blind.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t expecting success. I spent the first 30 seconds of this clip writhing with anxiety. Thinking, “here we go again, another sadistic youtube clip to make the world a little bleaker.” But you flipped the script. You triumphed; summoning all the senses honed by your blindness and like a god damn fruit bat sonared that ball in for a strike. And in front of a playoff crowd, no less. I mean, maybe your eyeballs don't work, but your real balls do. And that's a sense most of the seeing don't have.”
