BJ Raji Calls Out The Giants Offensive Line

Discount Double Check moves aside, Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji has had a disappointing third season. His play has declined from a year ago, especially against the run. He sounds confident that will change Sunday against New York’s offensive line. “Not to say they’re soft,” Raji said via Barbara Barker of Newsday. “But it’s not the toughest group I’ve been against.” While the Giants line has struggled throughout the year, they are playing much better recently and did well against the Packers in early December. New York rushed for five yards-per-carry against Green Bay. Eli Manning mostly got good protection during the game. (He was hit three times and sacked once.) The loss of Cullen Jenkins hurt Green Bay’s defensive line this year, but it would help a great deal if Raji played like a star again. His Pro Bowl selection was curious. So were his comments Thursday. Raji gave credit to the Giants wideouts, but he took a shot at, um, Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum. “I don’t think their tight ends are in a position to say too much. They’re not the best players at that position we’ve seen,” Raji said.
