Chris Bosh Out Of Olympics To Rest, Rehab Injury

It's bad news when the phone rings this week.

This time, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh called Colangelo and Krzyzewski Friday morning and informed them he will not be available to play for Team USA at the this summer's London Olympics July 27-Aug. 12 because of the lower abdominal strain Bosh sustained against the Indiana Pacers May 13 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

"He called this morning and said the doctor's advice was it would be best to rest the abdominals because if he were to re-injure it, it could be reoccurring injury," Colangelo told USA TODAY Sports Friday afternoon.

That news comes one day after Heat guard Dwyane Wade told Colangelo and Krzyzewski he will not play because he needs surgery on his ailing left knee. Bosh missed nine playoff games and returned for Miami's final eight games en route to the NBA title.

Colangelo told USA TODAY Sports Thursday he had been advised Bosh would attend Team USA's training camp in Las Vegas July 6-13. That changed Friday morning.
