Blake Griffin Injures Left Knee During Team USA Scrimmage Sent To L.A. For MRI....Anthony Davis Called Up To Replace Him
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin hurt his left knee in a Team USA scrimmage Wednesday and is returning to Los Angeles to be examined by team doctors, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Griffin twisted the knee in a scrimmage, a source said. The severity of the injury is unclear. He's expected to have an MRI, possibly as soon as Thursday.
Griffin injured the same knee in Game 5 of the Clippers' first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies.
USA Basketball officials have asked New Orleans Hornets rookie forward Anthony Davis, one of Team USA's final cuts last week, to report to training camp.
Davis was on his way to Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon after attending a cable TV event in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, sources said.
