After all the anticipation, here’s the hardcore data about the only phone that matters until the next big phone releases. We’ll keep updating as the event continues to wrap up.

– Quad-core processing – Apple finally brings the iPhone up to spec with the other super phones on the market (Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC X One, and LG OptimusX HD). With this, smoother apps, better multitasking, faster games, etc. But this was never an issue with the iPhone 4S.

– 4″ Screen – Again, Apple played catch up, and was last to release a phone with a display over 3.5 inches. Steven Jobs had stated he kept the screen that size ensuring proficient single hand usage. But Tim Cook decided to “innovate”.

– New dock – Apple showed off the new magnetic connector, similar to that of the Macbooks. The good? Faster transfers, mirroring the speeds of USB 3.0, and the ability to connect the port either way, preventing wear and tear. The bad? You’ll have to go out and buy more new accessories.

– 4G/LTE – This iPhone will mark Apple’s first real 4G/LTE device. So while you’re on the go, you get those really fast speeds to download Doodlejump and visit TSS via Safari… all while on the go. Still, the downside of 4G/LTE is price, lower battery life, and the fact that a lot of markets lack the coverage.

– New Camera – Apple went all the way in with this one. From the outside, they added a Sapphire crystal coating over the lens, meaning the only thing that can scratch it is a diamond. It’s still capable of taking shots at a 8 megapixel resolution, complete with panoramic pictures (up to a whopping 28 megapixels) and a high-definition front camera for FaceTime. Finally.

– Pricing – The new iPhone’s (contract) pricing remains consistent with past iPhone releases. $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB. And if you’re still struggling with a 3GS, you can now upgrade to the iPhone 4 for free or iPhone 4s for $99.

– Release Date – Pre-orders start Friday, September 14th, and ships on the 21st.

– New Headphones – Remember those crappy stock headphones that shipped with the iPhone? Well no more. Now we have Earpods, designed to fit into the everyman’s ear, no matter how misshaped they may be.

– iOS 6 – Complete with new apps for Maps, GPS, Siri, Passbook and more, the new operating system is designed to run more efficiently than the previous iteration. It also includes complete Facebook and Twitter integration, as well as PhotoStream, Apple’s exclusive version of Instagram.
