Giants Fan Stabs His Dog And Fights Police After Getting Upset Watching Last Night’s Cowboys Game

A Dingmans Ferry man stabbed a dog then tried to hit a state trooper, all because of the Giants – Cowboys game televised last night. According to police, Edward Richard DeBlock Jr., 47, was bitten on the thumb by a pit bull/boxer mix when DeBlock stomped his foot in anger over a play during Wednesday’s night’s National Football League season opener. A 45-year-old female in the Doolan Road home took the dog, Lucky, into the couple’s bedroom to get it away from DeBlock. DeBlock grabbed a large butcher knife and stabbed the closed bedroom door, punched a hole in it with his fist and forcibly openned it. Once in the room he pushed the woman aside and stabbed the dog in the right rear leg as it was lying at the foot of the bed. When asked by arriving state troopers to leave the home, DeBlock became aggressive and tried hitting a trooper with a closed fist. Troopers had to forcibly remove DeBlock from the home, as he continued to resist even while being handcuffed. DeBlock was taken to the Pike County jail to await video arraignment on charges of aggravated assault, cruelty to animals, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and harassment. Lucky was taken to an emergency animal clinic for treatment. Its condition is not known.
