Nicki Minaj Officially Confirmed As Judge For Season 12 Of 'American Idol', Reportedly Will Earn $12 Million


For the past few months, almost no names seemed to be excluded from the rumors of who would become the newest judges for the upcoming season of 'American Idol'.

Now the rumors can finally be put to bed as to who will be sitting next to Mariah Carey, the only confirmed judge to this point.

A picture posted by the show's host, Ryan Seacrest, on his Instagram account showed the new look 'family' in it's entirety.

Hip hop's leading lady Nicki Minaj has now been confirmed as a judge, and country star Keith Urban will be joining her.

Longtime judge Randy Jackson will also be back at the table.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minaj will make $8 million for the season of work while Urban will earn $4 million.

Mariah Carey by far is the highest paid out of the new faces, pulling in close to $18 million.

Auditions for Idol's 12th season kick off Sunday in New York. Other audition cities include Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, N.C.., San Antonio, Baton Rouge, La., and Oklahoma City.

'Idol' returns in January.
