Jay-Z Trades His Maybach For The Train as He Rides To His Last Show In Brooklyn At Barclays Center

Jay-Z sure knows how to make an entrance. The multiplatinum rap icon could’ve arrived at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for his eighth and final homecoming show in any ride he chose, but on Saturday (October 6) Hov left the Maybach in the lot and went to work the old fashioned way; he took the train.

The God MC pulled the ultimate stunt when he entered the Canal Street station in Manhattan at around 6 p.m. and boarded a Brooklyn bound R train. The New York Daily News is reporting that Jigga, who was escorted by plainclothes NYPD officers and his own security moved through the station attracting a throng of followers, he let one train pass him by before he hopped on the R for a few stops, getting off at Atlantic Avenue/Barcalys Center in his native BK. Fans snapped several pictures and Jay even stopped to talk to a few straphangers.

It was the perfect way to start a night which found Jay performing in front of 19,000 fans for the eighth time in nine days. The string of shows served as both a homecoming for the Marcy Projects rapper and a grand opening for the newly constructed Barclays Center.
