Breaking: Lil Wayne In Medically-Induced Coma After Suffering More Seizures

UPDATE (10:13PM EST): Slim, CEO of Cash Money, called in to Power 105 in New York to let er’body know that Wayne is okay. He made a literal 20-second appearance to shut down rumors and say that Wayne is watching basketball on television. Listen here. And Birdman did the same and called up Flex.

UPDATE (9:35PM EST): Lil Wayne (or somebody with his log-in info) tweeted that he’s alright and thanks everyone for their prayers.

UPDATE (9:30PM EST): Like we mentioned below, we had hoped that TMZ was wrong in the whole coma thing and it seems that reports are easing off after Mack Maine and Birdman tweeted that Wayne is well and not in a coma. But TMZ is still sticking to parts of their story (though they removed the “last rites” comment off the story and off Twitter without explanation). Otherwise, TMZ states that Wayne is stabilizing and that the hospital says he’s sleeping. In TMZ’s exact words:

6:30 PM PT — Sources at the hospital tell us Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU … but stabilizing. We’re told the prognosis is uncertain. Wayne is sleeping right now … which is odd, because he just tweeted saying he’s OK and thanking people for the prayers and love.

UPDATE (8:11PM EST): I know a lot of you are still hot about that whole Lil Wayne situation, but I’m sure most of ya’ll don’t wish harm on no one. TMZ reports that he’s in a medically induced coma and had his stomach pumped with high amounts of codeine in his system. Nothing is confirmed but they are reporting that he had another seizure episode in L.A. (his second in two days) and things are looking real bad and he’s currently in critical condition. TMZ also reports that his mother is on a flight to L.A right now in case any medical decisions need to be made. Wow, I really hope that none of this is true. Read the full report below…

Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we’re told it doesn’t look good … TMZ has learned.

We broke the story … the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious.

Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.

We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes.

We’re told several people are at Wayne’s bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way. Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably.

Sources say there’s evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

We’re told Wanye’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.
