American Pie star Eddie Kaye Thomas called police to his home after a woman wielding a knife threatened to kill him.
The Los Angeles Police Department dispatched a SWAT team to the 32-year-old's Hollywood Hills mansion to deal with the incident on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports the woman remained barricaded inside the property until she was eventually taken into police custody.
LAPD Lt Andrew Neiman told the LA Times police were called to the 2500 block of Hargrave Drive shortly after 1 pm.
He said the unidentified woman had spent the night at the home, and that In the morning, when she was asked to leave, she refused and pulled a knife.
She has also been accused of destroying property at the residence.
A SWAT team remained at the house throughout the afternoon and were in contact with the woman, whom they urged to surrender.
Eddie is best known for playing self-styled sophisticate Paul Finch in hit comedy American Pie, which tells the story of four friends who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation.
His character ends up seducing the mother of his friend Steve Stifler, played by Seann William Scott.
He reprised the role in the three sequels, and also starred in the likes of Freddy Got Fingered and Blind Dating.
