LeBron James, Tony Allen And Serge Ibaka Lead All-Defense Teams

He might've won Defensive Player of the Year, but Grizzlies center Marc Gasol wasn't named to the NBA's first team All-Defense.

Gasol was placed on the second team, with LeBron James, Tony Allen, Serge Ibaka, Chris Paul and Joakim Noah and Tyson Chandler (tied) making the first team.

Joining Gasol on the second team is Tim Duncan, Paul George, Avery Bradley and Mike Conley.

So how did Gasol win Defensive Player of the Year and not make first team All-Defense? Individual awards are voted on by the media, All-NBA teams are voted on by coaches. This is actually the second consecutive season this has happened as Chandler won DPOY last season but was named second team All-Defense.

LeBron and Allen were the top vote-getters, both bringing in 25 first-team votes. Ibaka received the third-most with 17.
