Mariano Rivera’s Latest Retirement Gift? A Delta Jet Dedicated To Him

VIA: What do you get for the retiring baseball legend who seems to have it all? A chair made of broken bats? Nope, Mariano Rivera has that already. Surfboard for his next adventure? Nope, got that too. Gold Metallica record? Got that!

Geez, is this guy hard to buy for.

Well, Delta Air Lines went and gave Mo a gift that neither you, me nor practically anybody else could give him. The airline dedicated a jet to Rivera, as part of his farewell to baseball, in which opposing teams and now apparently big corporations are bestowing gifts upon baseball's all-time saves leader.
It's a 757 passenger jet that will carry flyers out of New York to places like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. It'll even make transatlantic flights.

The jet is adorned with Rivera's signature, his No. 42 and a Yankees logo. He accepted the honor on Friday at JFK airport and threw a "last pitch" next to the jet that was caught by Yankees manager Joe Girardi.
