Hodgson said he couldn't provide much information, but told the TV station that Hernandez and another inmate are part of an internal investigation at the prison. He said Hernandez is away from the general prison population, in a segregated housing unit.
The 24-year-old Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. The Boston man was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

NBC to Revive Heroes With 13-Episode Miniseries — Will Any of the Original Cast Return?
VIA: Yatta!…? NBC’s Heroes shall be reborn, with an event miniseries from creator Tim Kring.
The Peacock network has ordered 13 episodes of a new standalone arc titled Heroes Reborn, with all storyline and character details currently being kept under wraps. The miniseries will air sometime in 2015, preceded by a web series that will introduce the characters and new story lines.
The following teaser ran during NBC’s coverage of Saturday’s Winter Olympics:
“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said in announcing the project. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment.
“We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept,” Salke continued. “Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”
The news comes 10 months after TVLine reported that MSN was pondering a continuation of the series as part of a push for its Xbox platform.

Nike Creates New System To Stop Bots
VIA: The saga continues!
As technology continues to take over the world, tasks like purchasing sneakers online to avoid long lines become more of a hassle than anything else. The reason for that, Bots! Bots have been responsible for releases on NDC to be sold out in under 5 minutes. People who use Bots usually end up with several pairs in their cart, while others who go the traditional route end up empty handed and angry. Resellers have been taking advantage of Nike’s online store for quite some time, but Nike may have finally found a way to strike back! This method had been used on different occasions, but new releases may be handled in the same manner.
Access codes…
Nike will send out Access Codes to select customers, granting them exclusive access to select Nike products. Each code is unique to the individual, valid for a limited time and redeemable only once.
Nike reserves the right to use access codes on any product and won’t announce selections publicly prior to use. Nike also reserves the right to deactivate access codes or ban users at any time.
Nike recently updated their FAQ for this system in which they grant customers a unique access code that allows them to have an opportunity to buy product. This does not guarantee the purchase of a product, but it does give you the opportunity to purchase without racing a bot.
How do you go about getting an access code?
Access Codes can be distributed in person or electronically. An accompanying link will take users to a product page where they can redeem the access code for purchase. Nike Access Codes are given out to select customers, and codes are valid only for those customers.
Nike may be rolling out these Access Codes as soon as tomorrow! Access Codes are one time use only and for one specific size of product. Make sure you sign up on Nike.com with all your accurate information. Could we possibly see the demise of Sneaker Bots by Nike giving special privileges to customers who sign up for their site? We really hope so.
What do you think about this new system? Comment below.
Report: Danny Granger ‘pissed’ over trade to 76ers, eyes potential jump to Spurs, Heat
VIA: As expected, Danny Granger did not taking his trade from the Eastern Conference-leading Pacers to the bottom-feeding 76ers very well.
The face of the franchise for many of his nine seasons with Indiana, Granger was understandably upset that the Pacers sent him to Philadelphia for guard Evan Turner and forward Lavoy Allen just before Thursday’s trade deadline. The 30-year-old forward likely expected to be a critical cog in the Pacers’ NBA Finals push. He’d battled back from significant injuries over the past few years and had accepted a secondary role upon his return. He’s been a mentor to Paul George and a selfless leader. But now he finds himself having to start over with the 15-40 Sixers or another team if Philadelphia buys out his contract.
“Danny Granger was ‘pissed’ when he learned he was traded to the Sixers, per league source,” Jake Fischer of the Boston Globe tweeted.
The Heat and Spurs are potential landing spots for Granger if a buyout occurs, as Fischer notes. (Granger is making $14 million in the last year of his deal.) Both are title contenders that could use a bench upgrade at forward. Granger is no longer the All-Star he once was — he averaged 25.8 points per game in 2008-09 — but he’s still a capable scorer and has the ability to make three-pointers. He averaged 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 22.5 minutes in 29 games for Indiana this season.
The decision to part with Granger wasn’t easy for Indiana president Larry Bird and the team’s front office. Bird insisted he wasn’t shopping Granger at the deadline and said the small forward had always been his “favorite.”
It’s just a tough deal,” Bird said. “Danny’s always been my favorite. I understand the disappointment. A lot of people say that I’ve been trying to trade him for a year and I haven’t been doing that. I even told Danny that. I did tell him if a great opportunity arises, you can’t say you’ll never trade somebody.”
Ultimately, Bird said an “11th hour” trade offer from the 76ers forced his hand. Philadelphia had been insistent on only dealing Turner for a first-round pick, but backed down at the deadline and reached out to the Pacers.
“I didn’t think there was going to be anything there [with trades] that we’re really looking for, but when this came up and caught our attention, and we thought maybe we should do it. Try to stabilize that second unit,” Bird told the Star. “Obviously, Lavoy Allen’s another big body that can play and Evan Turner – I like guys who can play multiple positions. You can talk all you want about how he can’t hit an outside shot, can’t do this. I always look at the positive side of it. I think he’s a kid who can come in right away and help us.”
In a classy move, Granger stopped by the Pacers’ practice facility to say his goodbyes before leaving Indianapolis.
Tony Gonzalez in, Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe out at CBS
Any thought that Tony Gonzalez might change his mind about retirement (again) can probably put to rest, as Gonzalez has a high-profile new job: CBS has announced that Gonzalez is joining its pregame show.
As part of the same announcement, CBS said Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe will no longer appear on The NFL Today. The new cast of the show will be James Brown, Bill Cowher, Boomer Esiason and Gonzalez.
“Having just stepped off the playing field, Tony brings a fresh and insightful perspective,” CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said in a statement. “As a future Hall of Famer, we are excited for him to share his knowledge, experiences and opinions with our viewers. Tony was one of the most respected and hardworking players in the NFL and a tremendous teammate. We look forward to him bringing these attributes to CBS Sports. While we welcome Tony, we want to acknowledge Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe who have contributed greatly to the success of The NFL Today for more than a decade. Dan and Shannon are true Hall of Famers on the field and in front of the camera. As they pursue other professional opportunities, we thank them for their hard work and dedication and wish them nothing but the best.”
Gonzalez was the first-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 1997, and played in Kansas City for 11 years, then played five more years in Atlanta. Gonzalez was chosen to 14 Pro Bowls, tied for the most of any player in NFL history, and is the all-time record holder for touchdowns and yards by a tight end. Although he initially said he would retire after the 2012 season, he returned for 2013. From all indications he now really is retired and is ready to embark on a career in broadcasting.
Independent as FUCK: 50 Cent Is Counting on the Future
After splitting with Shady/Aftermath and G-Unit, 50 Cent is the future.
We should have smelled the beef cooking. Back in September, when Funkmaster Flex asked 50 Cent about the future of G-Unit, and 50 shrugged:
When we say that [Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo] haven't quite followed my blueprint, it's disappointing that they're not following it.... It feels like there's something missing from their actual character. Something in my character that's not in their character.
And while 50 was busy announcing his severance from Interscope and Shady/Aftermath, Yayo confirmed via Instagram that G-Unit had disbanded.
So what's 50 Cent up to, exactly?
Like Jay Z and Puffy, 50 Cent has long proven his bona fides as a consummate hip-hop entrepreneur. In that sense, his decision to go indie seems more so a power play than a last ditch retreat to irrelevance. At the top of 2014, he dropped new solo heat, "This Is Murder Not Music," a gutter sixteen spit over a piano crash beat that sounds fresh off The Massacre. Young Buck even hopped on a remix. And then 50 teamed up with former rivals Fat Joe and The LOX in the run-up to his latest project, Animal Ambition, due out in June—his first album to be distributed under his new, exclusive distribution deal with Caroline/Capitol/Universal Music Group.
Safe to say, however much 50 Cent loves the beef, he loves the dough even more. Having ditched all his previous affiliations—at least contractually—it's likely that 50 is staking out a new creative direction all his own, beyond the legacy of his Shady/Aftermath zenith. A bold gambit, and somewhat unexpected from a guy who dissed Koch Records as a hip hop "graveyard" and suggested that post-Roc Cam'ron was doomed to indie failure.
So now it's guns up, fingers crossed. While Banks has so far been quiet on the G-Unit split, Yayo subtweeted (we think) a couple shots at 50 on Wednesday.
No doubt that both Yayo and Banks have had a harder time than, say, Game in maintaining their link to the hip hop present. Meanwhile 50's been in the lab with YG, ScHoolboy Q, and J. Cole, resetting his connection to the contemporary rap landscape. Speaking on his imminent Interscope debut, Oxymoron, Q recently told Hot 97's Pete Rosenberg that a couple collaborations with 50 will hit the Internet in the next couple months. Just as 50 ramps up promo for Animal Ambition.
Many flagging superstars have tried and failed, of course, to sustain such relevance a decade beyond their biggest smashes. And 50 himself, when addressing the balance of his various money-making priorities, often sounds lackadaisical about his musical output. But in this new year, hip hop's cheekiest villain seems dead-set on making a comeback.
Likewise, Lloyd Banks dropped his fair share of mixtape grind and new school collabos in 2013, though it's unclear whether he's got a new album project due out this year, and whether he'll still be distributed through G-Unit's deal with EMI. We can only hope that, whatever animosities may be lingering among the ranks, the South Jamaica stick-up champs will reunite for a track or two, at least. The crew magic is gone, perhaps, but the Unit is not forgotten.
