NFL Won’t Allow First Draft Pick To Wear Puma Cleats On Field
VIA: Banned… for now.
May 8th marked one of the most anticipated days of every NFL draft prospect’s life. With all the talk surrounding Johnny Manziel, the few people not consumed by hype understood who would be chosen first in the 2014 NFL Draft, that was Jadeveon Clowney. No mystery there, Clowney is great – he just doesn’t get as much press as Drake’s sidekick.
Even more interesting, Puma decided to sign the #1 draft pick. Puma had zero NFL presence up until this signing and that means no matter how many commercials or Instagram posts Jadeveon Clowney makes he won’t be able to rep Puma on the field. Yep, just like when MJ wasn’t allowed to wear his Bred 1s, Clowney will have to tape up his Puma cleats and hide all logos.
Maybe Puma wants Ronnie Fieg to design all of Clowney’s cleats so he can be the NFL’s Swaggy P? Just kidding, but it will be interesting what the next step for Puma and the NFL will be. I’m sure they are paying the guy a lot of money to let the world know he’s living that #PumaLife on his feet. Stick with TSG for future updates on the status of Jadeveon Clowney wearing Puma cleats in the NFL.
