New ‘Indiana Jones’ Movie Finally Confirmed By Lucasfilm
VIA: Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm back in 2012, there have been rumors of a fifth Indiana Jones. There were rumors it would be a reboot with Bradley Cooper as Indiana Jones. Then Chris Pratt was rumored to be their pick for Indy, something he didn’t seem to be averse to. Disney’s Bob Iger even spoke about how they wanted to make a fifth Indy, but were focusing on Star Wars at the moment. Disney’s Alan Horn told Variety last year that they “hadn’t done anything” because they “don’t have a story.” That hadn’t stopped them from locking down Oscar-winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski for the project, nor has it stopped recent rumors that Steven Spielberg himself may return to direct it.
Now another Indiana Jones movie — be it a sequel or a reboot — seems even more likely, as Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy spoke to Vanity Fair about the project, finally confirming that it “will be made” but there’s just no script yet. Reports Vanity Fair:
This is the first official confirmation from Kennedy and the House of Mouse. […] Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
The full interview regarding Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and other Lucasfilm stuff (lots of anecdotes about Willow, we hope) is in the June issue of Vanity Fair. Seriously though, can you imagine if they made this with both Harrison Ford and Chris Pratt?
