Random Guy Somehow Reeled In This Insanely Large 1,368-Pound Blue Marlin
KAILUA-KONA – A huge, 1,368 pound blue marlin was reeled in and weighed at Honokohau Harbor on Tuesday. Kona’s fishing community says it is the first 1,300+ marlin caught in Hawaii since 1992.
Guy Kitaoka caught the grander off Kona aboard the 21 ft. skiff Dayna, captained by Darrell Omori. The photo above was provided by The Charter Desk.
Sources say Kitaoko just turned 58 years old.

The Rock Says Hulk Hogan Is ‘Paying The Price’ For His Racist Rant
VIA: The Rock was asked to address the recent controversy surrounding Hulk Hogan during the Ballers panel at TCA on Thursday, something that seemed to leave the former WWE superstar a little hurt according to Deadline. Johnson said he was “disappointed” with what Hogan was reportedly heard saying on the leaked portions of tape and talked a bit about the personal effect Hogan had on his life:
“I’ve known Terry for years. My dad help trained him in Florida in the 1970s, and even my uncle. I come from a long line of professional wrestlers. I didn’t know him (Terry) to be a racist. It’s one of those things where it’s not definite in terms of what he said. We’ve all talked trash. He said what he said and he’s paying the price.”
It’s hard to gauge true feelings from a quick blurb at a television event, but you know there’s some history between those two in the ring and backstage. Those are the people that are going to know the reality of the situation more than anybody else, much like with all the other criticism’s we’ve heard over the years about Hogan. Does The Rock have more to share? We’ll just have to wait until the next stop.
Johnson also talked a bit about his upcoming documentary project, Rock in a Hard Place. It’s a passion project for the wrestler turned actor, reflecting on the troubles he had at a young age in Hawaii, the events that changed the path of his life, and how he used that in his career and for the project that focuses on the stories from a boot camp in Dade County, Florida that is also a correctional facility:
It’s a project that Johnson considers “near and dear to my heart.” The action star mentioned it was “a blessing in disguise” when his family was evicted and forced to move out of the state of Hawaii. Johnson was heading done the wrong path and “I’m lucky I didn’t wind up in prison,” recalled Johnson.
There’s no release for the project yet, but you can most likely expect some hints at it for next year on HBO.
Release Date: Drake x Air Jordan 10 'OVO'
VIA: Sneakerheads were stunned when Drake's "OVO" Air Jordan 10 set released at his brand's pop-up shop in LA back in April. That appeared to be the one and only crack at the ultra-rare collab, but it turns out that may not be the case.
In recent weeks, early sneaker leakers have been sharing a growing amount of "OVO" 10 photos with no additional information. Then, earlier today, J23app dropped this bombshell — a limited run of both the black and white-based colorways will hit retail later this year.
Further details, like a release date and locations, have not yet been announced. If this news is indeed true, there's no doubt that it'll be one of the year's biggest drops. Stay tuned for updates.
Air Jordan 10 "OVO"
Release Date: 08/01/15
Color: Summit White/Metallic Gold-White

He shows a product sheet with an Aug. 1 date for the shoes, which is likely just a placeholder meaning they'll release sometime in August. However, Drake's OVO Fest is happening in Toronto this weekend, so a release for Aug. 1 is very possible. Posters have already been spotted depicting the shoes, and the images are already loaded on Nike's server for a release.
UPDATE 7/24: While an official date still hasn't been announced, official images of Drake's white-based "OVO" Air Jordan 10 are on Nike's server. That means a release is imminent. Take in the photos below and keep it locked for a date.

Confused by the artwork? That's Joe Carter of the Toronto Blue Jays, immediately after sneaking a home run over the left field wall to beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the '93 World Series.

The Bastard Executioner’ Will Feature Ed Sheeran In A Recurring Role
Ed Sheeran is a musician everyone seems to love. Hell, he was even the most streamed musician on Spotify last year. It now looks like the 24-year-old will give acting a try, as he will appear in a recurring role on Kurt Sutter’s upcoming period drama The Bastard Executioner. According to THR, the six-time Grammy nominee will play a character named Sir Cormac, “an ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder.”
Sheeran previously contributed music to Sons of Anarchy, which might have initially put him on Sutter’s radar. In the show’s penultimate episode, the singer recorded his own bluesy version of Foy Vance’s “Make It Rain.” Sheeran may have fallen victim to the actor itch when he flexed his thespian chops by playing “Ed Sheeran” in the live episode of NBC’s Undateable.
Sheeran joins Stephen Moyer, Katey Sagal, Lee Jones, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, and even Kurt Sutter on The Bastard Executioner. The highly anticipated series will premiere on FX this fall.
Ed Sheeran Helped A Guy Propose In Exchange For Some Fried Chicken
VIA: The story of your marriage proposal should be one of the most powerful memories of your life. It’s sometimes fumbling, and it’s sometimes romantic, but it should always be memorable. It’s that one little chestnut you will dust off to your kids one day. So, of course, who better to usher you into this new fundamentally important moment of your life than everyone’s favorite Ginger pop singer, Ed Sheeran?
While performing in Dublin this past weekend, the pop star helped facilitate a marriage proposal between fellow musician Jason Boland of Kodaline and his girlfriend Etaoin Corr. (No, she’s related to the Irish group The Corrs. We double checked.) Oddly enough, this isn’t the only musical marriage Ed has helped make happen this week. He also sang along in Manchester with Rixton‘s Jake Roche as he proposed to his girlfriend, Jesy Nelson of Little Mix.

While Ed is a stand-up guy, it seems his assistance does not come so easily. He apparently did the favor in exchange for some of the Colonel’s secret recipe.
Look, far be it from us to give advice on healthy eating, but if you want to stop pooping your pants on stage, you should probably stop trading favors for buckets of KFC. Just a tip.

WWE Responds To Past Racial Allegations Amidst The Hulk Hogan Controversy
VIA: Plenty has been said in the days since Hulk Hogan got canned by the WWE ahead of the racist comments that were leaked from his sex tape trial. We’ve seen what the alleged audio contains, read the apologies, heard some defense from Dennis Rodman and Brooke Hogan, and even pondered what the future held for the Hulkster. But there’s also been a bit of a brushback against the WWE.
The clip above has been back in circulation since the Hulk Hogan news broke, stemming from a skit on WWE television in 2005 that folks probably thought was pretty funny at the time. TMZ posted about and reportedly the WWE responded about the allegations that it was proof that racism is a rampant issue at the sports entertainment giant:
Hulk is outraged Vince is acting so self-righteous, condemning him for spontaneously using the epithet in private when the wrestling boss used it in a premeditated way, on TV and for profit.
Several pro wrestlers like Virgil and George Foreman have to come to the Hulk’s defense, as well as his daughter.
But a WWE rep says everyone recognizes the 2005 segment “was an outlandish and satirical skit involving fictional characters, similar to that of many scripted television shows and movies.”
Translation: If it’s okay for “The Wire” and “Django Unchained” … it’s okay for the WWE.
Now if you’re thinking this is knee jerk stupidity on behalf of mostly everyone involved, it is. But there is a noteworthy detail buried in here that many have pointed out over the past few days: there’s a lot of racist junk that’s been passed around in wrestling for many years.
Now if you’re thinking this is knee jerk stupidity on behalf of mostly everyone involved, it is. But there is a noteworthy detail buried in here that many have pointed out over the past few days: there’s a lot of racist junk that’s been passed around in wrestling for many years.
Without even looking things up, we had Harlem Heat being led out in chains upon their debut in WCW, any number of Asian wrestlers being sanded down to Kung Fu stereotypes and weird penis chopping Yakuza, and plenty of blackface peppered in from time to time. There’s also a boatload of gimmicks and stories from behind the scenes that sorta give credence to the idea that this is bigger than Hulk Hogan.
My point is that WWE was trying to get in front of this, but it’s really something that is engrained in the DNA of the business from time to time. Luckily it would seem that the majority of these things are in the past, despite the little missteps where Sheamus steals Alberto Del Rio’s car and references burritos in a hurtful way. There’s also plenty of strong, positive superstars of multiple races that are finding success without being your typical stereotypes.
It’s a lot better.

Did This Mysterious Twitter Account Give Us Our First Look At Spider-Man In ‘Captain America: Civil War’?
VIA: While Captain America: Civil War continues to film as we speak, a new Twitter account supposedly belonging to directors Joe and Anthony Russo has popped up, and it’s posting some interesting photos that may or may not be from the set of the Marvel film. As of now, the account has yet to be verified, but there’s some evidence that points to it being real.
As /Film points out, the account is following stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with cast members from Community, a show that the brothers worked on. The strongest evidence that suggests this may be real and not a troll job is the people who are following it: Jason Stamey, who works in casting for Marvel films, Ryan Stankevich, the VP of global marketing for Disney, and Andrew Stamm, a crew member on Captain America: Civil War.
The Twitter account has more than 7,000 followers now as word is spreading that this might be the real deal. Here’s the most recent cryptic photo that was posted.
Is that a close-up of Peter Parker’s camera? Who knows, but there’s more…
That looks like a chair that might be involved in the Winter Soldier project. We know that Spider-Man will be making an appearance in Civil War — he factors in heavily in the storyline in the comic-book version — and these photos may be giving us a glimpse of Spidey’s suit.
That’s either a camera lens, or it might be one of Spidey’s eyes, which actually have character in the comics, and can move to show emotion.
Okay, that looks like it could definitely be a close-up of Spider-Man’s costume. There’s rumors that we’ll get to see Spidey in all his Civil War glory for Disney’s D23 Expo, so we might have to wait until then to get the full reveal.

Kristen Bell Called A Young ‘Frozen’ Fan With A Brain Tumor As Anna
VIA: On June 30, a 6-year-old girl named Avery Huffman was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. On Avery’s CaringBridge page, which allows “people to easily get updates and offer support and encouragement,” her father wrote that although the “last 3.5 weeks [have been] a nightmare for our family,” there are occasionally days when they’re “just able to forget… the awful battle she’s going through.” The Huffmans had one of those recently, when Kristen Bell left Avery a voicemail in character as Anna from Frozen, one of her favorite movies.
I’ve watched the video of her hearing from Anna/Kristen Bell, around 50 times, just to watch her face light up, and to hear her giggle and see her smile. Seeing it go viral and so many people sharing the same emotions I have when I watch it, I’m constantly reminded that while Avery is going through the worst possible fight anyone should have to, she’s touching so many people’s hearts and her fight and toughness is reaching so many people
The WWE Has Cut All Ties With Hulk Hogan And Scrubbed Him Clean Off Their Website For A Very Raciest Rant
The National Enquirer has released details from the controversial tapes that led to WWE apparently parting way with Hulk Hogan and "scrubbing" him from their website.
Hogan made the comments to Heather Clem, the woman who was married to Bubba the Love Sponge, the same woman Hogan was secretly filmed having sex with in 2012. Hogan was reportedly mad at his daughter Brooke, who he accused of sleeping with a black man.
"I guess we're all a little racist," Hogan said on the tape.
"She is making some real bad decisions now," Hulk said, sources tell Radar Online and The Enquirer. "My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career, I've done everything like a jackass for her."
Hogan continued, "The one option Brooke had, Brooke's career besides me, is [to] sell beach records."
Hogan also talked about how a "black billionaire guy" had offered to fund Brooke's music career.
"I don't know if Brooke was fucking the black guy's son," Hulk said, the sources add.
"I mean, I don't have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, fucking niggers. But then when it comes to nice people and shit, and whatever."
According to their sources, Hogan also said: "I mean, I'd rather if she was going to fuck some nigger, I'd rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall nigger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we're all a little racist. fucking nigger."
They also reports that the transcripts have been filed in a Florida court, under seal, in a bid to prevent them from being publicly released. However, Radar and The Enquirer's extensive investigation reportedly uncovered five independent sources who provided the contents of the tape.

That N.W.A. Reunion Tour With Eminem Isn’t Happening
VIA: If an N.W.A. reunion tour with Eminem subbing for Eazy-E sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is.
People were understandably excited when a rumor surfaced that said Em would stand in for the late rapper on a soon-to-be announced tour. Eminem seems like the perfect fit to stand in for Eazy, considering he was co-signed by original member Dr. Dre and became a torchbearer for the brand of intentionally offensive and in-your-face rap that N.W.A. peddled.
However, reps for Dr. Dre and Eminem crushed rumors of a full reunion. Dr. Dre and Eminem have no plans of touring together as solo acts or with N.W.A. The reps shared the anti-reunion news with Rolling Stone.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that some sort of reunion isn’t coming. Universal chief Donna Langley seems eager for a tie-in to the film, and the other members of N.W.A. have proven that they’re open to the idea of a reunion.
Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella reunited for a one-off show in June, and we could see something similar as the Straight Outta Compton biopic approaches.
Eminem does have some involvement with the film, however. He will be featured, along with Kendrick Lamar, on the film’s soundtrack.
