VIA: A juvenile great white beached itself while trying to catch seagulls off Chatham, Massachusetts. Watch as the harbor master and beach-goers team up to get it back in the water without getting eaten in the process.
Mike Bartel posted this incredible footage of a great white shark that became stranded on a Cape Cod beach while hunting seagulls. (Note to sharks: your lack of legs makes beach trips a bad idea.)
The shark, a 7-foot male juvenile, became stranded as the tide went out, and beach goers (smartly not getting too close) dumped buckets of water in an attempt to keep it alive.
Beach officials were notified and stepped in, using a rope to drag the sandy sap back out to sea. Although it appears dead in this video, Harbormaster Stuart Smith told the Associated Press that the shark was eventually tagged and released, where it presumably thought about its close brush, contemplated living a more peaceful life, and then ate an entire family of seals.
